brief encounter

lousmall_lou_dillon

I love this casual snap of Lou Doillon by Antonio Barras--as well as the blog from whence it came, The Singular. It makes me so happy to see someone blending such an analog format into the hyper-digital mix. Sadly, it also reminds me of how much bitterness I still feel towards Polaroid (as a company, that is...)

Oh me too! It's not the photos that make me bitter, just the company itself, and the fact that they chose to go and make flat screen TV's instead of our cherished film stock!

Here, here! How very dare they?! Now all have to stockpile old polaroid film, it's like flipping gold dust!
BTW love Lou, she makes so jealous with her carefree style, if i try it i just look like a mad bag lady

have you heard of The Impossible Project? they bought up the polaroid factory and have been figuring out how to produce more film with the goal of getting the first batch out in 2010...which is mighty near. I keep my bitterness at bay by hoping it'll all be not so impossible

I have heard about that project, and I'm glad that there's hope! That being said, I'll believe it when I see it...
